Actor and comedian Jay Baruchel is currently doing interviews to promote his upcoming sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, which is a project he directs and stars in.
During an interview with Joblo, Baruchel was put on the spot to discuss some recent films he has really enjoyed. In addition to mentioning Tom Ford’s noirish thriller Nocturnal Animals (which he described as “gorgeous and compelling”), he bravely brought up the critically destroyed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Baruchel praised the blockbuster, saying: “I’ve watched it about seven times… even when I saw the theatrical one and didn’t love it. In its weakest moment, it has more choice, style and commitment to it than the best moment in Captain America: Civil War. I can’t tell you what it’s about or who made it. You watch Batman v Superman you know exactly what it’s about and [Zack Snyder] fucking committed to a choice and DC always does that.”
He then finished by claiming that “I think history’s going to regard that as the world’s most expensive indie film.”
