Jennifer Aniston joins Robert De Niro in The Comedian

November 20, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Originally published November 20, 2015. Updated April 14, 2018.

Deadline has revealed that Jennifer Aniston has signed on to star alongside Robert De Niro in his passion project The Comedian, which is being directed by Taylor Hackford (An Officer and a Gentleman, Ray).

The film will see De Niro as “a toxic insult comic on the order of a Don Rickles”, with Aniston set to play a woman with whom he develops a close relationship after meeting at a wedding.

De Niro has been trying to get The Comedian off the ground for several years, and production will finally get underway in early 2016.
