Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) and Austin Butler (Elvis) are set to star in Henry Dunham’s (The Standoff at Sparrow Creek) crime thriller Enemies.
Enemies focuses on a relentless detective and an infamous contract killer colliding in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
A24 is producing the film from a script Dunham wrote with Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg producing alongside A24. Alejandro De Leon will also produce with Josh Bachove serving as an executive producer.
White and Butler have both become big and in-demand names in recent years. White has starred in FX’s hit drama series The Bear which has earned him two Golden Globes wins while Butler won a Golden Globe and BAFTA for his role as Elvis Pressley in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
Upcoming films from Butler include the western Eddington, which was written and directed by Aster, and Caught Stealing, while it’s also heavily rumoured he is up for one of the lead roles in Michael Mann’s anticipated Heat 2. As for White, The Bear will return with its fourth season in June and he will next be seen as The Boss in the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere as well as Rotta The Hutt in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Production on Enemies will begin this summer in Chicago.
