Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain is set to star alongside Chris Pine in #MeToo drama This is Pleasure.
Per Variety’s report This is Pleasure will be an adaptation of Mary Gaitskill’s novella, which tells the story of Margot (Chastain) and Quin (Pine), two friends whose relationship threatens to unravel when multiple accusations of misconduct are levelled at him, leaving Margot to decide whether loyalty, forgiveness or truth will define the end of their long, heady friendship.
This is Pleasure will be directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, the married filmmaking duo behind critically acclaimed 2003 Oscar nominee American Splendor, and multiple episodes of your favourite television shows, including Succession and Only Murders in the Building. They will direct from a script written by English theatre director and playwright Nina Raine (Rabbit).
Previously, Mary Gaitskill’s Secretary was adapted into a 2002 cult black comedy starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader.
