Joe Russo wants to direct Community movie, suggests Netflix should make it

April 22, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Joe Russo says he and brother Anthony would want to direct the Community movie and thinks Netflix should get behind it.

Before Joe and Anthony Russo hit the big time with their work in the MCU and the likes of Avengers: Endgame, the two were executive producers and directors for the beloved comedy show Community.

The series has gained attention again recently due to its arrival on Netflix and star Joel McHale thinks this could lead to a long-desired movie. And now, Joe Russo has told Collider that he and Anthony would be on board too:

“We’d certainly be willing to do it. We love our Community family. That cast, we’re all still very close to all of them. It’d certainly be schedule-depending for us. But I believe there will be a Community movie, especially now that it’s doing so well on streaming. Someone like Netflix could step up and make that movie.”

With the Russo brothers backing it, Community‘s case for a movie is certainly improved! Hopefully, it finally happens and Netflix does seem like the perfect partner.
