Joel David Moore to reprise his role in James Cameron’s Avatar sequels

June 1, 2017 by Ricky Church

Now that James Cameron is finally getting ready for production on the long-delayed Avatar 2, there is confirmation of yet another returning face from the original film. Deadline has revealed that Joel David Moore, who played scientist Norm Spellman in the 2009 film, will reprise his role for the sequels.

Moore joins returning cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang for the films. One newcomer to the franchise that was announced a few weeks ago is Fear The Walking Dead’s Cliff Curtis, who has signed on for all four sequels as Metkayina, leader of the reef Na’vi clan.

Not much is known about the plot of the next film other than the fact that it will focus on Pandora’s coastal tribes with several scenes under water. Cameron has been busy developing new film technology that will allow him to capture underwater scenes much better than they have previously been able.
