Jóhann Jóhannsson to score Blade Runner sequel

Iceland Monitor is reporting that Academy Award-winning composer Jóhann Jóhannsson (The Theory of Everything) is set to score the upcoming Blade Runner sequel, having previously collaborated with director Denis Villeneuve on Prisoners, Sicario and the upcoming Arrival.

The as-yet-untitled follow-up to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic is based upon a script by original scribe Hampton Fancher and Michael Green (Green Lantern), with Harrison Ford reprising the role of Rick Deckard alongside new additions Ryan Gosling (The Nice Guys), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Jared Leto (Suicide Squad), Carla Juri (Morris From America), Ana de Armas (Knock Knock), Dave Bautista (Spectre), Mackenzie Davis (The Martian), Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man), Hiam Abbass (Munich), Sylvia Hoeks (Tirza) and Lennie James (The Walking Dead).

The Blade Runner sequel is set for release on October 6th 2017.
