John Cena and Jason Momoa to take a Killer Vacation

December 17, 2022 by Gary Collinson

After briefly sharing the screen together in the season one finale of James Gunn’s DC series Peacemaker, John Cena and Jason Momoa are set to reunite for Killer Vacation, Deadline has revealed.

Scripted by Mark and Brian Gunn (Brightburn) and produced by John Rickard and Peter Safran (Aquaman producer, and – just to keep all the James Gunn connections going here – the new co-head of DC Studios), the Warner Bros. production is described as an action-comedy, although further details are being kept under wraps.

John Cena is coming off a pair of DC projects in The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, while Momoa is set to return as Arthur Curry next year in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Peacemaker has been renewed for a second season, although the status of that and the entire DC film and TV slate is up in the air at the moment following the appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran as the studio’s new bosses (Momoa has even been linked to the role of Lobo).

Along with Killer Vacation, Cena and Momoa are also both part of the cast of Fast X, with Cena returning as Jakob Toretto and Momoa taking on the role of the film’s villain Dante. Look for the latest chapter of the Fast & Furious franchise in May.
