John Cleese linked to DC Extended Universe role

November 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Rumours are flying that John Cleese could have bagged himself a role in the DC Extended Universe, owing to some social media activity which has seen DCEU stills photographer Clay Enos following Cleese on Twitter, before the Monty Python legend then began following both Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck.

While it seems quite preposterous that someone following someone else on Twitter could spawn a news story, a similar thing occurred earlier this year when director Rick Famuyiwa began following DC-related accounts, and he was then subsequently announced as director on The Flash (although he has since left the project).

So, with regards to Cleese, it’s certainly possible that he is being lined up for a role, presumably either in Justice League or The Batman (or both). Or, seeing as neither Snyder or Affleck are following him back yet, perhaps he’s just seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and is #TeamBatman…
