Arkham Asylum is open for business as Joker 2, better known as Joker: Folie À Deux, has begun its production, with Joaquin Phoenix leading the way for another twisted Gotham adventure.
Todd Phillips is back as director and took to social media to share the first look at Phoenix as the titular clown. We see the caption “Day 1: Our Boy” and an image of Phoenix getting shaved with his head tilted back.
With filming now underway, fans are anticipating a first look at Lady Gaga, as the singer-turned-actress will star alongside Phoenix in the role of Harley Quinn, and rumblings say the film will be a musical.

Joaquin Phoenix reprises his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, along with Zazie Beetz’s Sophie, while other new additions to the cast for the sequel include Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born) as Harley Quinn and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Harry Lawtey (Industry), Catherine Keener (The Adam Project), and Jacob Lofland (Mud) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
Joker: Folie À Deux is currently in production and is slated to release on October 4th, 2024.
