Jordan Vogt-Roberts shares new Metal Gear Solid movie concept art

July 15, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the director of the planned Metal Gear Solid movie, has shared some new concept art.

There have been plans in place for a Metal Gear Solid movie for years and in its current iteration, Jordan Vogt-Roberts is taking up directing duties. A script has apparently been written but apart from that, nothing has progressed in quite some time.

However, Jordan Vogt-Roberts has continued his hobby of releasing some epic concept art for the video game adaptation and is timing the next batch for the game’s 33rd anniversary.

Taking to Twitter, the director said: “To the METAL GEAR SOLID community: Happy 33rd anniversary to @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN’s original masterpiece! Thanks to the legends @DavidBHayter @christophran @TasiaValenza @4pauleiding @CamClarkeVoices for helping me send this message. New concept art coming all week! #METALGEAR33”

In 2018 I released one piece of concept art for the METAL GEAR SOLID movie every day for 31 days in sync with the 31st anniversary of the game.

It became potently clear how the wavelength of these games has changed peoples lives & created bonds amongst strangers.#METALGEAR33

I sought out titans of the concept art world who all shared passion & visceral love for @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN’s world.@tgconceptart & I met through this and bonded over our shared influence.

We began first of many collaborations…

DAY 2 of #METALGEAR33

Pain Begets Pain.

Yesterday @tgconceptart released his masterful piece of horizontal storytelling showcasing METAL GEAR SOLID’s cycle of pain.

Today, my 2nd collaboration w/ the great @ELIANT_ELIAS is a vertical piece showing that same twisted evolution. pic.twitter.com/Ip0w75T19N

You can expect much more concept art to come from Vogt-Roberts over the coming days, giving fans a taste of what to expect from the film. He is clearly very passionate about the Metal Gear Solid franchise so hopefully, all this talk and art will lead to a film worthy of its famous name.
