Josh Brolin pulls no punches regarding James Cameron and Avatar 2

August 10, 2017 by Jordan Jones

A while back, Josh Brolin turned down an offer to appear in James Cameron’s long-gestating sequel to Avatar, which is now due to release in 2020 with three more sequels to follow. No big deal, right? Actors turn down roles all the time for a number of innocent reasons, scheduling conflicts being chief among them.

Well, allegedly, James Cameron did not take kindly to this perceived slight, and began bad-mouthing the Deadpool 2 actor around Hollywood. And Hollywood being the small town that it is, word inevitably reached Brolin.

As one can imagine, the gruff Josh Brolin did not mince words while talking to Cinemablend about James Cameron and Avatar 2:”If I don’t want to do Avatar, I’m not going to do Avatar. James Cameron’s fucking calling me this name and that name. Whatever. If James Cameron came to me and said, ‘Hey, man, why’d you say that?’ I’d go, ‘Because it happened.”

I suppose the “it” the actor is referring to are James Cameron’s comments towards the actor. While there is absolutely no proof that James Cameron is angry with Josh Brolin at all, the usually chill Brolin must be irritated for a reason. Also, given the actor’s recent Cable photos, wouldn’t you actively avoid getting on his bad side?

Check out Josh Brolin as Cable in next year’s Deadpool 2, and as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
