ABC’s Scrubs revival continues to get the band back together, with Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley the latest to be confirmed as returning for the reboot of the long-running medical comedy.
Reyes and McGinley will reprise their roles as Carla Espinosa and Dr. Perry Cox respectively, appearing in the new series as recurring guest stars. The duo join the previously announced Zach Braff (J.D.), Donald Faison (Turk) and Sarah Chalke (Elliot) in the revival, which has received a straight-to-series order from ABC.
The logline for the new Scrubs reads: “JD (Braff) & Turk (Faison) scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”
Original creator Bill Lawrence will serve as executive producer on the new series alongside Braff, Faison and Chalke, while Scrubs veterans Tim Hobert and Aseem Batra will showrun.
