Justin Cornwell joins Bill Paxton in Training Day series

March 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

CBS’ Training Day TV series has found its co-lead, announcing that Justin Cornwell (Alpha House, Chi-Raq) is set to join Bill Paxton in the small screen follow-up to Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 crime drama.

Cornwell will play Kyle Craig, “an idealistic young African American police officer [who] is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD, where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous Caucasian detective (Paxton).”

Furthermore, the network has announced that Drew Van Acker, Katrina Law, Lex Scott Davis and Julie Benz have all signed on to appear in the pilot, which has been scripted by Will Beall and will be directed by Danny Cannon (Gotham).
