Justin Theroux and Ashley Jensen join Disney’s Lady and the Tramp live-action remake

July 27, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

As Disney continue to mine their back-catalogue for live-action adaptations, Collider are reporting that Justin Theroux (The Spy Who Dumped Me) is joining the remake of 1955’s Lady and the Tramp.

Theroux, familiar to most as Kevin Garvey in HBO’s stunning The Leftovers, will voice the character of Tramp, the confident stray mongrel who strikes up a sloppy spaghetti kissed relationship with the well-to-do Lady (who is yet to be cast). Ashley Jensen, of Extras fame, will lend her Scottish brogue to the terrier, Jackie.

Lady and the Tramp will be a live-action/CGI crossover directed by The LEGO Ninjago Movie helmer Charlie Bean, and will be one of the flagship films, along with a Sword in the Stone remake, that will be used to launch Disney’s own streaming service sometime in 2019.
