Karen Gillan says Nebula “will have her moment” when she confronts Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War

October 7, 2017 by Gary Collinson

The last we saw of her in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Nebula had reconciled with her sister Gamora, but chose to leave the Guardians in order to continue her quest for revenge against their father Thanos. And, according to actress Karen Gillan, Nebula “will have her moment” when she confronts the Mad Titan in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

“I’ve been sworn to secrecy,” Gillan told Den of Geek when asked what we can expect from Nebula in Infinity War. “But I definitely think that all of what we’ve been building towards, with all the backstories between Nebula and Thanos, is definitely going to come to a head in the Avengers film, and she’s definitely going to confront all of those traumatic memories. I definitely think she is going to have her moment.”

As comic book fans will known, Nebula plays a major role in The Infinity Gauntlet storyline, but it remains to be seen if and how that will be translated into the movie version.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket, Kraglin), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L.
