Karl Urban in talks about returning as Dredd in Judge Dredd: Mega-City One

August 8, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in May of this year, it was announced that IM Global and Rebellion are working on a TV series entitled Judge Dredd: Mega-City One, with producer Brian Jenkins revealing that the door would be open for Karl Urban to reprise his role as the iconic lawman from 2012’s cult movie Dredd.

Well, speaking at a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas this past week, Urban has revealed that he’s open to donning the helmet once again, and has even been having talks about that very possibility!

“I am in discussions with them about that,” said Urban (via TrekMovie). “I told them that if they write the material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be there. I would love to.”

Urban’s performance as Judge Dredd was very well received by fans, so lets hope he can reach a deal with Rebellion to portray the character in Mega-City One, which is expected to arrive some time in 2019.
