Deadline is reporting that Kat Foster (Weeds, Your Family or Mine) is set to star alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme as the female lead in Amazon’s comedy pilot Jean-Claude Van Johnson.
The pilot sees Van Damme as a “famous actor and martial-arts pro who comes out of retirement to resume his alter-ego: an undercover private contractor by the name of Jean-Claude Van Johnson. The comedy-action thriller will see Johnson’s cover as the lead role in a reimagined action film version of Huckleberry Finn that lands him back in the midst of the danger he secretly always craves. It also brings him back in the orbit of Vanessa (Foster), his fellow operative and the love of his life that got away. Vanessa styles hair for movies as her cover. Years ago Jean-Claude broke her heart. Now he’s trying to spin back heel kick his way back in to her life, deliberately getting himself assigned to her new mission in Bulgaria.”
Jean-Claude Van Johnson has been writtenby David Callaham (Godzilla), with Peter Atencio (Key & Peele) directing.
