Kingsley Ben-Adir to play Bob Marley for Reinaldo Marcus Green

February 14, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Having already portrayed one iconic figure in the shape of Malcolm X in Regina King’s One Night in Miami, Kingsley Ben-Adir is on the verge of stepping into the shoes of Bob Marley for a Paramount biopic of the reggae legend.

According to THR, the star of The OA and Marvel’s forthcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion has been tapped to headline the film, which will be directed by King Richard‘s Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley and Cedella Marley will produce on behalf of Tuff Gong, with Oscar-nominated King Richard scribe Zach Baylin on writing duties.

Jamaican artist Marley was behind countless hits, such as ‘Jamming’, ‘Is This Love’, ‘Redemption Song’ and ‘One Love’ and the movie will reportedly focus on the recording of his 1977 album Exodus. Marley died of cancer in 1981 at age 36.
