Kingsman: The Secret Service crosses $150 million worldwide

February 23, 2015 by admin

With talk of a sequel being bounded around, it’s good news for Kingsman: The Secret Service as the movie passed $150 million worldwide over the weekend.

The movie, directed by Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class), took $17.5 million in the US, which was only marginally behind Fifty Shades of Grey‘s $23 million. With its foreign total of $86 million, Kingsman: The Secret Service now sits at $153.5 million worldwide – a great result for a movie with a projected budget of $81 million. Kingsman: The Secret Service reunites the creative team behind KICK ASS as Matthew Vaughn and Jane Goldman bring to life Mark Millar’s and Dave Gibbons’ acclaimed comic book. With an all-star cast including Colin Firth, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Caine and newcomer Taron Egerton, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.
