Deadline is reporting that Kingsman: The Secret Service star Sofia Boutella has signed on for a lead role in Paramount Pictures Star Trek 3, although character details are being kept firmly under wraps.

The third entry in the revamped series is to be directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6), with Simon Pegg writing the script alongside Doug Jung. Pegg will also reprise as Scotty alongside Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Karl Urban (Bones), John Cho (Sulu) and Anton Yelchin (Chekov), while Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World) has been tipped to join the cast as a villain.
Star Trek 3 is set for release on July 8th, 2016.
