Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons cast in Fargo season 2

December 16, 2014 by Gary Collinson

FX has announced that Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man) and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad) have signed on for major roles in the second season of the Emmy Award-winning Fargo.

According to EW, Dunst will play Peggy Blomquist, “a small town beautician with big city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with traditional societal expectations. She shares her home with her husband Ed (Plemons), a butcher’s assistant, who wants to be supportive of his wife’s self-discovery, even if he doesn’t quite understand it.”

The second season of Fargo will once again consist of 10 episodes and takes place in 1979, revolving around the character of a young Lou Solverson (played by Keith Carradine in season one) as he returns from the Vietnam War and embarks on a new career as a police office in Sioux Falls.

Fargo season 2 is slated to premiere in the Fall of 2015.
