Kong: Skull Island adds two more to its cast

The cast of Legendary Pictures’ upcoming King Kong prequel Kong: Skull Island, has swelled further this week with two new actors joining the film, reports Deadline.

John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook) and Shea Whigham (Cop Car) have signed on to appear in the movie, which is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer).

Tom Hiddleston (High-Rise), Brie Larson (Room), John Goodman (The Gambler), John C. Reilly (The Lobster), Thomas Mann (Me and Girl and the Dying Girl), Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton), Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four) and Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) round out the impressive cast.

The story tells the story of “a man (Hiddleston) who travels to the mythical island and home of the king of the apes. A team of explorers ventures inside what they find to be a treacherous island. The story is said to honor the King Kong lore but in a different time period.

Kong: Skull Island is set for release on March 9th, 2017.
