Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese officially on board Killers of the Flower Moon

October 25, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Having been rumoured for a couple of years, Imperative Entertainment have now announced that Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are officially on board an adaptation of David Grann’s bestselling book Killers of the Flower Moon.

The story takes place in the 1920s, and explores a string of murders of members of the Native American Osage nation in Oklahoma after oil was discovered beneath their land, marking one of the fledgling FBI’s first major investigations.

“When I read David Grann’s book, I immediately started seeing it – the people, the settings, the action – and I knew that I had to make it into a movie,” said Scorsese. “I’m so excited to be working with Eric Roth and reuniting with Leo DiCaprio to bring this truly unsettling American story to the screen.”

Production on Killers on the Flower Moon is slated to begin in summer 2019 once Scorsese finishes work on his next film The Irishman, which stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Bobby Cannavale, Jack Huston, Stephen Graham, Ray Romano, Kathrine Narducci, Anna Paquin and Danny A. Abeckaser.
