M. Night Shyamalan talks Tales from the Crypt format, confirms the Crypt Keeper

March 30, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in January, it was announced that M. Night Shyamalan is teaming up with TNT for a reboot of the classic anthology series Tales from the Crypt.

At the time, there was some speculation about whether we’d be seeing the Crypt Keeper as part of the new series, but speaking to Slash Film at WonderCon, Shyamalan has confirmed that the character will be hosting the show, and it’s likely that the new show will retain the single episode story format, rather than season long arcs like American Horror Story.

“You know, I can’t say 100% but I’m thinking right now, where I am, if you’d asked me this six months ago I would have a different answer, but where I am right now it’s more individual Black Mirror kind of stuff right now,” said Shyamalan, who was attending the convention to unveil the second season of Wayward Pines [watch the first look featurette here].
