Marco Beltrami composing the score for Logan

January 1, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Originally published January 1, 2017. Updated December 16, 2019.

It looks like there’s been a change of composer on 20th Century Fox’s upcoming Wolverine movie Logan, with director James Mangold revealing on Twitter (via Film Music Reporter) that Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine) is now scoring Hugh Jackman’s X-Men swansong.

Back in July, it was reported that Cliff Martinez (Drive, The Neon Demon) had signed on to score the film, so it’s unclear at the moment whether Beltrami has replaced him, or if the original report was inaccurate.

Logan is being helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold and will see Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by Patrick Stewart as Professor X, along with new additions Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Elise Neal. It is set for release on March 3rd, 2017.
