Mark Hamill pitched an “Evil Twin” scenario for Star Wars: The Last Jedi

September 7, 2017 by Jordan Jones

Mark Hamill has either debunked a huge rumor surrounding Star Wars: The Last Jedi, or he is the internet’s biggest troll this week. Talking to Empire, Hamill spoke up about a soap-opera scenario he had pitched to Lucasfilm for The Last Jedi:

“Oh baby, would I love to play my own evil twin! It’d be great because you could maybe not reveal it’s Evil Luke until the real Luke shows up. We could watch this guy undermining the good guys secretly, maybe even killing a supporting character out of everyone’s sight so they all go, ‘What’s going on? He’s crazy!’ And then, of course, the good Luke shows up.”

While rumors haven’t factored in an evil twin, many have been wondering if Luke Skywalker had succumbed to the Dark Side in the upcoming Star Wars film. From the red-color of the logo, Luke’s black garb in promo pictures, to his ominous words in the teaser: “The Jedi must end”… there is a lot of evidence that lend credence to this theory. This ultimately sounds like an idea that, while interesting, didn’t get far. This could mean two things: 1) Luke will ultimately be good in this movie, or 2) He is simply toying with us because he is (of course) aware of the rumor. Mark is known for having fun on social media, and this wouldn’t be outside his realm of humor.

Only one way to find out!
