Mark Hamill shares his thoughts on a young Luke Skywalker Star Wars spinoff

July 15, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Disney and Lucasfilm have already decided to revisit one beloved character from the Star Wars saga for its series of Anthology movies, with the young Han Solo film currently in production ahead of its release next year. So, might we also get a young Luke Skywalker movie at some point in time?

Well, according to Mark Hamill, it’s probably not the most interesting of ideas, with the actor telling Fandango that: “[Han] had a more colourful life prior to Star Wars than I did. It’d be pretty boring you know. It’s set on a moisture farm… on a desert planet… yawn.”

Check out his comments here…

Hamill is correct that there’s probably not going to be much excitement in a young Luke Skywalker movie, but it is of course entirely possible that Luke could pop up should that rumoured Obi-Wan Kenobi solo movie ever become a reality. After all, he did make a very brief appearance in the Obi-Wan-themed episode of Star Wars Rebels…

Regardless, we will be seeing Luke Skywalker back on the big screen this December with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
