Martin Freeman to join zombie thriller Cargo

May 13, 2016 by Scott J. Davis

Sherlock and The Hobbit star Martin Freeman is set to join the cast of upcoming zombie thriller Cargo, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

The film is based on a short made by directors Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling which was a viral hit back in 2013. In the feature version, Freeman is set to play “a father who must try save his infant child at all costs. When he becomes infected following a violent attack and with only 48 hours before he transforms into one of the very creatures he’s fought to evade, Andy sets out on a precarious journey to find a new guardian.”

Ramke and Howling are directing the feature-length version, with The Babadook producer Kristina Ceyton also on board.

Freeman currently has two films in cinemas: he has a small role in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, as well as Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, in which he co-stars with Tina Fey and Margot Robbie.
