Marvel’s Alan Fine rips into The Amazing Spider-Man 2, says he wanted to burn the script

December 20, 2014 by Gary Collinson

There’s been a lot of hate aimed towards Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 from fans since its release earlier this year (and indeed, the studio’s overall handling of the Spider-Man franchise), and it seems the folks at Marvel weren’t too impressed with it either, even before cameras starting rolling on the Marc Webb-directed sequel!

The MCU Exchange has uncovered an email from the latest round of Guardians of Peace leaks, dated September 2012, during which President of Marvel Entertainment Alan Fine rips into the script and story for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, stating that he “wanted to burn the draft” after he read it. Although he does seem to completely ignore the fact that the franchise was rebooted with the previous movie…

Anyway, check out his emails here…

What do you make of Fine’s comments? Did he hit the nail on the head?
