Marvel’s WandaVision could resume filming in July, Evan Peters rumoured to have joined the cast

June 4, 2020 by Samuel Brace

It is being reported that Marvel’s WandaVision will resume filming in July owing to a recent convention appearance cancellation by Paul Bettany.

A host of TV shows and films had to halt production due to the pandemic. One of these was the Disney+ Marvel show WandaVision starring Paul Bettany as Vision. Fortunately, we might now have a good idea of when filming will resume.

According to Tampa Bay Comic Convention, Bettany has had to cancel an appearance with them in July due to the resumption of WandaVision. They posted about the news on their Facebook page:

“We finally received word from Paul Bettany’s representation, and unfortunately Paul had to cancel his appearance at TBCC this year due being called back by Disney for WandaVision filming in July, in Los Angeles. We’re working on guest additions!”

Meanwhile, in other WandaVision news, it is being reported by Murphy’s Multiverse that American Horror Story and X-Men star Evan Peters has signed on for a “key role” in the series and has already shot his scenes.

Notably, Peters portrayed the character of Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men: Dark Phoenix – a character who just so happens to be the brother of Wanda Maximoff (and who was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the MCU’s Avengers: Age of Ultron).

Might Olsen’s Scarlet Witch find herself bumping into an alternate Quicksilver somewhere in the Marvel Multiverse? Or is Peters likely to be portraying a new character entirely? We’d assume the latter, but let us know your thoughts in the comments, or on social media @FlickeringMyth…

WandaVision is currently set to premiere on Disney+ in December 2020, and features a cast that includes Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany (Vision), Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis), Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo),  Teyonah Parris (Empire) as an adult Monica Rambeau, and Kathryn Hahn (Bad Moms) as a “nosy neighbour.”
