Meet Alexander Skarsgård’s killer robot in the trailer for Apple TV+’s Murderbot

April 9, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its sci-fi comedy series Murderbot, which is based on the best-selling series of books by Martha Wells, and follows Alexander Skarsgård’s rogue security robot as it searches for the meaning of life.

Directed by Chris and Paul Weitz (American Pie, About a Boy) and Tao Fraser (Sweet Tooth), the ten-episode series also stars Jennifer Sendaula, David Dastmalchian, Tattiawna Jones, and Sabrina Wu. Check out the trailer below…

“In a high-tech future, a rogue security robot (Alexander Skarsgård) secretly gains free will. To stay hidden, it reluctantly joins a new mission protecting scientists on a dangerous planet…even though it just wants to binge soap operas.”

Murderbot premieres on May 16th on Apple TV+.
