Meet The Parents 4 officially a go with John Hamburg directing original cast

March 21, 2025 by Ricky Church

Get ready for more Fockers. After its initial report a few months ago, Universal has officially greenlit Meet The Parents 4 and has tapped director and original Meet The Parents co-writer John Hamburg to direct Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo and Blythe Danner in the new installment.

Meet The Parents was released in 2000 and saw Stiller’s Greg Focker wanting to propose to his girlfriend Pam, played by Polo, but had to meet her parents first. Instead of an easy weekend to her family’s home turned into an excruciating visit as Pam’s overbearing and former-spy father Jack scrutinized every move Greg made, culminating in one mishap after another.

The comedy became a huge hit and spawned two sequels Meet The Fockers, where Jack and Danner’s Dina had to meet Greg’s parents played by Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand, followed by Little Fockers where Greg and Pam are parents to five-year-old twins.

The story is being kept under wraps, but the script will be written by Hamburg after he wrote all three previous films in the franchise. Jay Roach, the director of the original and Meet The Fockers, will produce through Delirious Media while Hamburg will produce through Particular Pictures. De Niro will also produce through his company Tribeca Pictures with Jane Rosenthal and Stiller will produce for Red Hour Films with John Lesher.

What do you think of the Meet The Parents 4 news? Where do you think Greg and Jack’s story could go from here? Let us know on our social channels at @Flickeringmyth…
