Michael K. Williams hoping to get another Star Wars role after being cut from Solo

September 10, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Having been cut from Solo: A Star Wars Story due to scheduling conflicts with the Ron Howard-directed reshoots (where he was to have portrayed the Crimson Dawn crime lord Dryden Vos via motion capture), actor Michael K. Williams has revealed to Variety that he’s hoping to get another chance to appear in the galaxy far, far away.

“I have not had a chance to see Solo, but you know a shout out to my castmates, even though I didn’t make the final cut, they’re still my cast mates,” said Williams. “I love you guys. I’m quite sure I’ll get around to it [seeing Solo] but I’m more interested in getting another shot in being in that galaxy… I would love another opportunity to make it happen.”

Although Disney and Lucasfilm are keeping their post-Star Wars: Episode IX plans close to their chest following Solo’s disappointing box office performance, one would have to assume that the studios have several movies in the pipeline, and so Williams may well get his wish in the coming years.
