Michael Pena and Dave Bautista heading to Fantasy Island

October 12, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in August it was announced that Truth or Dare director Jeff Wadlow is set to reunite with Blumhouse Productions for a big screen reboot of the classic ABC TV series Fantasy Island, and now we’ve got our first casting news on the project.

Deadline is reporting that Michael Pena (Ant-Man and the Wasp) is in talks to take on the Ricardo Montalban role of Mr. Roarke, the overseer of a mysterious island where visitors can come and live out their fantasies for a price.

Meanwhile, THR has revealed that Dave Bautista (Avengers: Infinity War) is in talks to play a former guest on the island who remains there against his will. Jimmy O. Yang (Crazy Rich Asians) has also been cast as one of the island’s guests.

Wadlow has written the script for Fantasy Island with his Truth or Dare co-writers Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs, while Jason Blum will produce the film for Blumhouse. Sony, which holds the rights to the property, is set to distribute the movie.
