Mighty Mouse heading to the big screen

April 14, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Here he comes to save the day!

Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures has enlisted screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber (The Meg) to develop a script for a live-action/animated hybrid feature film based upon the classic cartoon character Mighty Mouse.

Created by 20th Century Fox’s Terrytoons back in 1942 as a parody of Superman, Mighty Mouse appeared in a host of animated shorts over the next two decades before being revived by Filmation in the 1970s, as well as the 1980s series Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures from Ralph Bakshi.

Paramount first attempted to get a Mighty Mouse movie off the ground back in 2004, teaming with Omation Animation Studios and Nickelodeon Movies for a CGI feature, although this ultimately failed to materialise.
