Milla Jovovich to fight zombies again in George A. Romero’s Twilight of the Dead

Here’s some news regarding a collaboration between two people who know a heck of a lot about zombies. Milla Jovovich is set to lead the late George A. Romero’s undead swansong Twilight of the Dead.

Per Deadline’s report The Resident Evil alumni has been cast alongside Get Out‘s Betty Gabriel in the seventh film in Romero’s genre-defining era.  

Romero had written a treatment for the seventh-and-final installment in his undead franchise before passing away in 2017, and now with the permission of his estate The Machinist and Session 9 director Brad Anderson is set to bring to an end the legacy that started back in that Pennsylvania cemetery in 1968. 

With shooting set to get underway in 2025, all that has been revealed about Twilight of the Dead is that it is set on a Tropical Island, with an accompanying logline that reads “delve into the dark nature of humanity from the perspective of the last humans on Earth who are caught between factions of the undead.”

Long-time Romero makeup man Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead), who started his legendary career on 1985’s Day of the Dead, will return to bring the zombies to life.
