Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation hits $400 million worldwide

August 22, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation has crossed the $400 million mark at the global box office, with the fifth instalment of the spy series having grossed $146.1 million domestically and $259.2 million from international markets for a worldwide haul of $405.3 million and counting.

Tom Cruise’s latest outing as Ethan Hunt has now surpassed the lowest-grossing instalment in the series, Mission: Impossible III ($397.9 million) and will likely catch the $457.7 million made by the 1996 original in the coming weeks. It could still catch Mission: Impossible II ($546.4 million), although franchise leader Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol looks pretty safe with $694.7 million.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation sees Christopher McQuarrie directing Tom Cruise alongside fellow franchise veterans Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames and new additions Rebecca Ferguson (Hercules), Sean Harris (Prometheus) and Alec Baldwin (Still Alice).
