Naomi Watts set to join Brie Larson and Woody Harrelson for Glass Castle

March 30, 2016 by Scott J. Davis

Naomi Watts (Demolition) is in talks to join the cast of Glass Castle, the new film from acclaimed director Destin Daniel Cretton, Variety has revealed.

Glass Castle will see Cretton, who shot to prominence with his outstanding debut Short Term 12, re-teaming with star and now Oscar winner Brie Larson (Room)

The film “tells of a successful young woman who was raised by dysfunctional and nonconformist parents, based on Jeannette Walls’ memoir. Walls’ eccentric mother and alcoholic father would stir the the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty… Her world gets turned upside down when they move to New York to be near her.”

Watts would play Walls’ mother while Woody Harrelson (The Hunger Games), who joined the cast last year, will play her father.

Glass Castle is set to film in Montreal this June, with a release set for 2017.
