Neon and Maika Monroe to re-team for horror film Brides

December 19, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

It comes as little surprise that following $126 million at the worldwide box-office and the title of highest-grossing independent film of 2024, Neon are reuniting with their Longlegs star Maika Monroe for another horror titled Brides.

Per Deadline’s report, Brides will also reteam Monroe with Chloe Okuno, who directed her in 2022 thriller Watcher.

Okuno will direct from her own script, which tells the story of Sally Bishop (played by Monroe) and her husband, who travel to a remote villa in Italy, where the owner, described as a mysterious count, takes an unhealthy interest in Sally.

Before Monroe seemingly goes all Nosferatu in Brides, she will be seen in the eagerly anticipated follow up to her horror breakout It Follows, with David Robert Mitchell’s Neon-backed sequel They Follow set to begin production in early 2025.
