Netflix renews Castlevania for season 2

Coinciding with its arrival on the streaming service yesterday, Netflix has announced that it has renewed the animated video game adaptation Castlevania for a second season of eight episodes.

Castlevania is based on the classic video game franchise from Konami and follows the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes. Warren Ellis penned the series, and also executive produces alongside Adi Shankar, Kevin Kolde and Fred Seibert.

The first season of Castlevania is available to watch now on Netflix, and features a voice cast that includes Graham McTavish (Preacher) as Dracula, Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) as Trevor Belmont, James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) as Alucard, Emily Swallow (Supernatural) as Lisa, Matt Frewer (Orphan Black) as The Bishop, Tony Amendola (Annabelle) as The Elder and Alejandra Reynoso (G.I. Joe: Renegades) as Sypha Belnades.
