Netflix to launch in Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan in 2016

September 10, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Video streaming giant Netflix is to continue its global domination of the market by expanding into new international markets in early 2016.

News today states that the company is to launch its service in some of the richest parts of Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan and continues with its plans to “complete its global rollout by the end of next year.”

When Netflix launches in those territories in 2016, it will be available on tablets, smartphones, computers, smart TV’s and many games consoles and set-top boxes. Other details, include service prices and content will be announced at a later date.

Netfix Chief executive officer Reed Hastings said on today’s news: “The combination of increasing Internet speeds and ubiquity of connected devices provides consumers with the anytime, anywhere ability to enjoy their favorite TV shows and movies on the Netflix service….These four markets well represent those trends.”
