Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front gets a trailer and images

September 6, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

First published in 1929, German author Erich Maria Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front was hailed for its anti-war stance and its harrowing portrayal of the horrors of World War I.

The book has made the jump to the big screen multiple times, most notably in 1930 where it became the first Best Picture winner to be adapted from a novel, and now German director Edward Berger has created his own version for Netflix.

Starring Daniel Brühl, and already selected by Germany as their official Academy-Award contender, you can check out the trailer below along with a gallery of official stills from Netflix…

All Quiet on the Western Front tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I. Paul and his comrades experience first-hand how the initial euphoria of war turns into desperation and fear as they fight for their lives, and each other, in the trenches. The film from director Edward Berger is based on the world renowned bestseller of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque.

Featuring in the cast of All Quiet on the Western Front are Felix Kammerer (Paul Bäumer), Albrecht Schuch (Stanislaus ‘Kat’ Katczinsky), Aaron Hilmer, (Albert Kropp), Moritz Klaus (Franz Müller), Edin Hasanovic (Tjaden Stackfleet), Adrian Grünewald (Ludwig Behm), with Thibault De Montalembert (General Ferdinand Foch), with Daniel Brühl (Matthias Erzberger), and Devid Striesow (General Friedrich).

All Quiet on the Western Front will hit select theatres in October, before streaming on Netflix from October 28th.
