Universal Pictures has dropped a TV spot for their Jordan Peele-produced sports horror Him, which stars Tyriq Withers as a young American Football player who makes a Faustian pact with Marlon Wayans’ legendary quarterback.
Directed by Justin Tipping (Kicks), and co-written by Skip Bronkie, Zack Akers, and Tipping, Him has a roster that also includes Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie), Australian comedian Jim Jefferies, former American sprinter Maurice Greene, American rapper Guapdad 4000, and singer Tierra Whack. “HIM stars former college wide-receiver Tyriq Withers (Atlanta, the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer) as Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.
