New Solo: A Star Wars Story character names have been revealed

February 6, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Some key new characters in Solo: A Star Wars Story have had their names revealed.

The marketing campaign for Solo has at last got under way. First we had a TV spot on Super Bowl Sunday, and then the following day a teaser with even more footage of the new anthology film.

Combining those with some character posters revealed yesterday, fans are starting to get a good sense of what the movie will look like. This wasn’t all of the information revealed, however, as Lucasfilm (via ComicBook.Com) have also revealed the names of characters played by Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Newton, whose character can be seen looking rather serious in the teaser, is playing a character called Val. We don’t have any further information yet regarding the character, however.

Waller-Bridge can also be seen in the teaser, where she used performance capture to create the latest droid to enter the Star Wars saga. The character, who seems to have been a member of the Millennium Falcon’s crew for a time, is called L3-37, acting as Lando’s co-pilot.

It’s not much to go on but at last details are emerging and fans can relax in knowing that this is only the beginning, the Disney marketing campaign won’t be letting up until that much anticipated May release date.
