McG’s KISS movie has found its first band member as Deadline reports Nick Jonas will play the KISS lead singer, Paul Stanley, in the biopic titled Shout It Out Loud.
Shout It Out Loud focuses on the formation of the ’70s glitter rock band. The project has been in development for some time by Mark Canton, Simmons, Stanley, and Doc McGhee, alongside Jody Gerson for Universal Music Publishing Group and Polygram Entertainment. Bruce Resnikoff of Universal Music Group/Ume, who controls and represents the band’s song publishing and recorded music rights globally, is also involved.
The outlet reports that McG is now zeroing in on who will play Gene Simmons, the fire-breathing, blood-dripping iconic bass player who formed the band with Stanley. There is no indication of who the production will pick for the role.
Jonas’ acting credits go beyond his youth in Disney projects and Jonas Brothers-related work; he’s starred in Kingdom, Jumanji, The Good Half, and played singer Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys Live. He will co-star opposite Paul Rudd in John Carney’s Power Ballad for Lionsgate.
Shout It Out Loud is set to go into production at the end of the year or early 2026.
