Nick Zano cast as Citizen Steel in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

June 16, 2016 by Gary Collinson

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is expanding its cast for season two, with Deadline reporting that Nick Zano (Minority Report) has signed on to play the DC character Dr. Nate Heywood, a.k.a. Justice League member Citizen Steel.

In the comic books, Nathan Heywood is the grandson of Hank Heywood, better known as Commander Steel, and was created by Geoff Johns and Alex Ross, making his debut in Justice Society of America #1 in 2007. A former college football star, Nathan’s skin is transformed into “living steel” after being attacked by a team of metahumans at the behest of Vandal Savage, and adopts the name Citizen Steel.

The report states that it’s ambiguous whether Zano’s Nate will acquire superpowers in the show, but it would certainly seem likely.

In addition to Citizen Steel, Legends of Tomorrow is also introducing a new version of Vixen to its roster for season two, which gets underway in the fall.
