It seems that Daniel Craig may be set to extend his record-breaking stint as James Bond – not by renewing his contract with EON, but by seeing the 25th 007 movie No Time To Die delayed once again to late this year.
Craig’s fifth and reportedly final Bond film, No Time to Die was originally intended to open in November 2019 but has been delayed numerous times: firstly, as a result of Cary Joji Fukunaga coming on board to direct after the departure of Danny Boyle, and then later due to the coronavirus outbreak.
No Time To Die became one of the earliest movies to push back its release due to the pandemic last year, moving from April to November, and then again to April 2021 (a delay which is reported to have cost in the region of $100 million to this point).
However, with many cinemas remaining closed in much of the world and the UK – a key market for Bond – under lockdown once again, Deadline is reporting that multiple sources have informed the trade that No Time to Die is now very likely to move from its Easter date to later in the fall.
This news comes after MGM was said to have shopped the movie to streaming outlets, who were said to have been put off by the $600 million price tag, and only willing to offer around half.
