Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split launches pre-orders with trailer

October 17, 2024 by Andrew Newton

From today, gamers can pre-order Dead Drop Studios’ spine-tingling survival horror game Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split ahead of its Xbox Series X|S launch on 25th October.  This survival horror will take players through an expansive campaign taking place at the start of a zombie outbreak.

Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split follows Detective Lydia Daniels as she heads to the Cypress Ridge sewers to meet a contact but instead comes face to face with a zombie.  As Lydia explores the labyrinthine sewer system she will encounter more threats and uncover the secrets that lie beneath Cypress Ridge.

In order to navigate through the sewer system, players will need to jump, climb and use stealth to avoid attracting a horde of zombies.  Once Lydia discovers a trusty lead pipe then players can start fighting the zombies, and use the pipe to access new areas where she will eventually find better weapons that increase her chances of survival, including a handgun and a shotgun.

Following traditional survival horror paths, Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split will have players exploring their environment to find precious crafting components that can be used to craft ammo, healing remedies, save points and more.  Though with a limited inventory, players will have to consider carefully what is taken with them and what is stored away.

As well as the main quest, players can enjoy other modes, including the Onslaught and Besieged Modes that allow players to kill huge numbers of zombies on unique maps and the ultra-hard Looming Dread Mode.  Players can also revisit the main story and carry over your weapons in New Game Plus.

Outbreak: Shades of Horror Chromatic Split is available to pre-order now on Xbox and will be released on 25th October.
