Patrick Stewart returns in first trailer for Star Trek: Picard

May 23, 2019 by Gary Collinson

With filming getting underway this past week, CBS All Access has now given fans our first look at the upcoming Star Trek: Picard series with the release of a poster and trailer for the Star Trek: The Next Generation sequel featuring the returning Patrick Stewart as fan-favourite Jean-Luc Picard.

Described as following “this iconic character into the next chapter of his life”, Star Trek: Picard picks up some two decades after TNG and as the trailer shows, Jean-Luc has retired from Starfleet – under mysterious circumstances, it seems – and is now living on his family’s famous French vineyard. Further plot details are being kept under wraps at present.

Star Trek: Picard is expected to premiere on CBS All Access at the end of the year and sees Stewart joined in the cast by Santiago Cabera (Salvation), Michelle Hurd (Blindspot), Alison Pill (The Newsroom), Harry Treadaway (Mr. Mercedes), Isa Briones (Takers) and Evan Evagora (Fantasy Island).
